What is the definition of a fashion designer?

Filed under: Design Tips, Education + Training — admin at 7:01 am on Sunday, April 27, 2008

Designing clothes and accessories may be your dream. If so then you really want to be a fashion designer, as this would be your title. You would perform other duties as well, such as conduct the planning and marketing of your designs. Some of your choices as a high fashioned designer would be to opt for self-employment or to work for individual clients. Individual clients will often seek after high-fashion independent designers. Designers employed in apparel manufacturing are responsible for less original work, instead incorporating fashions created by other designers into their work for the mass market.

Interested in becoming a fashion designer and need help getting started?
First of all you need to bring to the table a natural artistic talent. To work successfully in fashion design training, you need a good sense of aesthetics and an eye for detail. Employment in this field requires a high level of organizational skills, a great deal of enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently. When searching for a job, an extensive education is not always as important as the designer’s portfolio.

Formal training is still an expectation for you. Getting your degree will provide you with a broad knowledge in fashion design. If you live in California you can get a bachelor’s degree in art or science with an art major and an emphasis on costume design.

Do You Really Need Renter’s Insurance?

Filed under: Life Of Lifestyle — admin at 8:31 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2008

You and your landlord share a common goal: You both want to
ensure the protection of your interests. Obtaining a security
deposit from you — usually ranging from $100 to a full month’s
rent, and averaging $250 — is how your landlord obtains a
degree of insurance from you. The deposit covers your landlord
should you cause any damage to your apartment while you are a
tenant. Your landlord, in turn, may keep the deposit if you fail
to pay your rent or you leave before the end of your lease.
However, if, as a tenant, you keep your end of the bargain –
following the terms of your lease and leaving your apartment in
good condition when you leave — the deposit is refundable.

So how do you protect your own interests as a tenant? Renters’
insurance. If you’re an apartment-dweller, you’re probably
accustomed to brochures dangling from your door that advertise
various renters’ insurance policies. And if you’re like many
renters, you probably disregard them. But you may want to
consider taking out insurance. Before you say, “But I’m not
going to cause any damage to my apartment,” remember that
renters don’t always cause damage themselves. Mother nature, or
other tenants with little regard for your property, could prove
to be the source of your problems later.

According to Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, policies
typically provide coverage for the following renters’ pitfalls:

* Damage to personal property from fire or wind * Theft *
Personal liability in the event you are sued over accidental
injury to others who are in your apartment * Accidental damage
to property of others in your care * Living expenses if you are
forced to live elsewhere while your apartment is being repaired

This list doesn’t begin to elaborate on the multitude of other
possibilities for disaster: An electrical surge fries your
computer, television, and/or stereo; while visiting your
neighbor, you tip over his barbecue and start a fire; or you
accidentally cause injury to someone away from your apartment;
and the list goes on and on. And of course, as we’ve all
discovered, we can never discount such crazy-sounding
possibilities — because they can and do happen if and only if
we’re not prepared (or covered) for them.

Note that renters’ insurance policies may differ according to
the insurance company in question, as well as the laws in your
state. An insurance representative will be able to determine
what type of policy best meets your needs. If you’ve thrown away
all of those brochures dangling from your door handle, the
Internet is a good place to do your homework — specifically
apartment-search sites. Links to renters’ insurance information
will fill you in on the details, and you may apply online.

Get Creative In The Great Outdoors

Summer’s here and the time is write for dancing in the streets…

Okay - so I didn’t create that phrase - (”Dancing In The Streets” words and music by Ivy Jo Hunter, William Stevenson and Marvin Gaye) - but my take on it is creative?

Anyway, as the sun begins to heat up the days of summer this month, why not let the warm temperatures, bright skies, and traditional fun of summer sizzle your creative juices?

Grab some paper and a pen, perhaps your trusty thesaurus and dependable dictionary, or maybe even your lap-top, and get out of the house to write!

Set up shop in your own backyard (if you happen to have a fairly private area where you can write without distraction of neighbors talking, kids playing or other unnecessary noise that could prove to prevent you from concentrating on your work).

Pack a picnic lunch, a comfy blanket or maybe a beach chair, some cool shades and head for one of your favorite places of summer.

I personally find water relaxing, so I would camp out at the river’s edge, beside a lake, or along a creek in the country.

Some writers may not find solitude so soothing and seek out a crowded place to write instead.

If you can stay focused on your writing, you may actually get some interesting ideas or instant inspiration by watching people and listening to their conversations.

Try to think of an outdoor cafe or community gathering spot that is bustling with activity and people in the summer time.

Choose whichever scenario works for you. But do not let the benefits of sunshine slip by without utilizing them to enhance your writing this summer!

Have an idea about how to make your creativity sizzle this summer?

An Elementary Retailers Guide to High Definition Television’s

Filed under: Living With Shopping — admin at 6:22 am on Saturday, April 26, 2008

Around a decade ago the thought of a wall-hung TV may have looked like an electronics dream. It was out of the reach of most avid buyers, with higher fees that demanded taking out a second mortgage to splash out on these specially lush televisions. Nevertheless, over time, these excellent television sets reached the point of attainability. While still not something you can just go out and purchase, it has these days rapidly become much more of an option. Costs for these flat panel High Definition TV sets are at this time declining more rapidly than new residential house values, & have made the wishful vision a certainty.

These Days there are 2 rival flat-panel equipment; plasma & LCD. Although each make supplies an outstanding picture and these sets do look alike from the front, the components on the inside is very much different. And even though LCD TV’s have been limited to thirty-seven inches & below, sets with the liquid crystal display technology are at this moment in sizes as big as plasma.

Still, regardless of that, numerous consumers judge plasma to provide more than a few noteworthy selling points over LCD TV’s. The key benefit is that plasma sets generally comprise of deeper black levels-denoting that the blacks are in reality black and not no more than just a dark shade of gray. This in turn means that the colours are much more dazzling & lifelike. The recent models from Sharp and Panasonic have really taken the black levels to undreamt of depths, and hence have given the finest pictures we’ve observed to date.

Regardless of the gossip that plasma sets “needs to be recharged” after six-thousand hours, nothing can be further from the reality. Today’s flat panel plasma televisions would often operate for sixty-thousand hours or more, offering years of breathtaking viewing. Even though there has been a worry over problems such as burn-in (fittingly so, as this could ruin that expensive plasma TV). the current tellies feature equipment to address picture retention, supplying pixel shift functions that slowly move the complete screen and more crucially, do away with any ghosting should static images actually “stick” the picture. This consists of a white wash mode plus an opposite mode to take away all burn-in. Find Cheap 26″ LCD TV?s. Great brand Tellies at reduced prices from Digital Direct!

The United Kingdom Greatest Adult Aid Survey for Single Girls to Use

Filed under: Living With Shopping — admin at 3:00 am on Saturday, April 26, 2008

So marital aid are on the lips of every chick these days, either discussing about them in the bedroom, at the uni or on the telly. But which marital aid is the most popular, with the great choice to pick from surely a firm had to find out the best one.

A new adult toy site asked over 170 UK chicks in December what their best marital aid was along with other personal questions.

If you love sex toys you should try out Butt Plugs

It was found that the most best marital aid for UK chicks was the vibrator, and they just loved it! Chicks were so excited by the idea of a big vibrator that many of them would use it straight after coming home from work. The best kinds of vibrator were the bunny vibrators as they help to stimulate the clit hood as well as inserting into the love tunnel.

The 2nd most popular marital aid was the exciting dildo dong. Dildo dongs are similar to vibrators except they do not have batteries or vibrate. Dildo dongs come in all shapes and sizes from eight inches to twelve inches. They can come with suction cups to have a good experience hands free and can easily attach to a bath or toilet set. Dildo dongs have been a firm top seller since the 1990s and looks like they will be around for a long time.

So it was decided that the vibrator was the winner and the dildo came in second place, with some many sex toys out there it was difficult to know which type of vibrator was the most exciting for women to try. The classic vibrator sex toys are battery powered and shaped like a male’s penis. Standard vibrator sex toys are shaped just like the real thing and use batteries for power. They can be made up of plastic, vinyl metal or silicone. They can either be popped in or placed against your vagina to get the sexual feeling. We supply a wide range of classic vibrator sex toys.

The best way to use classic vibrator sex toys is to make sure it is fresh before use, make sure it is not too big for your vagina, and also make sure that you do not use it every Thursday night and you do venture out on a date to the disco.

Debt Management - More Ways to Save on Gas Consumption

Filed under: Finance Programs — admin at 4:52 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2008

The price of gas continues to climb, and with continued uncertainty in the Middle East, they will probably continue to do so. In California and elsewhere, prices for some grades of gas have now reached the previously unthinkable three dollars a gallon. Granted, that is lower than the inflation-adjusted prices of early 1981, but that doesn’t make anyone feel better when they’ve just paid nearly $100 to fill the tank of their sport utility vehicle.

In a previous article, we offered some solutions as to how the average consumer can either save on gas prices or use less gas. These tips included using credit cards with cashback rebates, keeping your car tuned and tires inflated, and keeping the car washed and waxed, which reduces drag. Here are a few additional tips which will help ease the strain of filling your tank.

  • Empty your trunk. Some people drive around with their trunks nearly full with things that just don’t need to be there. Sure, you need a jack and a spare, but do you really need a toolbox, golf clubs, and that pile of old clothes you’ve been meaning to drop off at the Salvation Army? Any extra weight you carry requires additional energy to make your car or SUV move. Lighten the load and your engine won’t work as hard or use as much fuel.
  • Drive efficiently. That means accelerating gradually, rather than speeding out of an intersection. Your car uses fuel more effectively when you gradually accelerate. Once you achieve your desired speed, keep it steady, using cruise control if you have it. Speeding up and slowing down only uses more gas.
  • Shift appropriately if you’re driving a car with a manual transmission. Shift at the factory recommended shift points, rather than running your tachometer all the way up before shifting. Your car runs best within a fairly narrow RPM range.
  • Each of these tips offers a small saving in fuel consumption. When combined with others, they add up and can produce significant savings. If you can increase your fuel consumption by just two miles per gallon, you can save $30-40 on a 1000-mile trip in your SUV. When you’re paying $3.09 per gallon, every penny counts.

The versatile reciprocating saw. The power tool of your dreams.

Filed under: Home Improvement Stuff — admin at 4:26 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2008

    A re
ciprocation saw is simply one of the handiest tools you can
own. These tools are great for applications in the home or the
jobsite. Milwaukee actually invented the first reciprocating saw
and is still considered one of the best saws on the market. The
    Mi
lwaukee Sawzall is the “Zerox” of reciprocating saws. Just
go to your local hardware store and ask for a Sawzall, the
salesman will know exactly what you need. These versatile tools
are fabulous for cutting holes in drywall, plaster, metal pipes
and through nails. However, they are not a precision cutting
instrument. If you need to cut a piece of molding to fit into a
weird place, a jig saw will be better. A great application is
demolition for home remodeling. One project I used my
reciprocation saw on was removing old siding from my garage. The
“recip” was invaluable. I would punch a hole in the wall near
the roof, insert the blade and rip down to floor. Nails were no
problem, the “sawzall” went through them like butter. The old
siding just came right off. Another really great feature of
these tools is the ability to quickly switch out the blades.
This allows the user to pick the right blade for the right
application. You can purchase a demolition blade that is great
for rough cutting wood and nails or you can get a blade with
fine teeth for cutting metal pipe. You can also get different
lengths and sizes. The quick release on the blade is the reason
these tools are so versatile. The applications are endless, from
landscaping to demolition. If you are considering adding a
powertool or giving one as a gift, you can’t go wrong with a
    good reciprocating saw.

    Ebay: The First 10 Years.

Filed under: Auction Stuff — admin at 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2008

Yes, you read that correctly: ten years. eBay was created in September 1995, by a man called Pierre Omidyar, who was living in San Jose. He wanted his site - then called ‘AuctionWeb’ - to be an online marketplace, and wrote the first code for it in one weekend. It was one of the first websites of its kind in the world. The name ‘eBay’ comes from the domain Omidyar used for his site. His company’s name was Echo Bay, and the ‘eBay AuctionWeb’ was originally just one part of Echo Bay’s website at ebay.com. The first thing ever sold on the site was Omidyar’s broken laser pointer, which he got $14 for.

The site quickly became massively popular, as sellers came to list all sorts of odd things and buyers actually bought them. Relying on trust seemed to work remarkably well, and meant that the site could almost be left alone to run itself. The site had been designed from the start to collect a small fee on each sale, and it was this money that Omidyar used to pay for AuctionWeb’s expansion. The fees quickly added up to more than his current salary, and so he decided to quit his job and work on the site full-time. It was at this point, in 1996, that he added the feedback facilities, to let buyers and sellers rate each other and make buying and selling safer.

In 1997, Omidyar changed AuctionWeb’s - and his company’s - name to ‘eBay’, which is what people had been calling the site for a long time. He began to spend a lot of money on advertising, and had the eBay logo designed. It was in this year that the one-millionth item was sold (it was a toy version of Big Bird from Sesame Street).

Then, in 1998 - the peak of the dotcom boom - eBay became big business, and the investment in Internet businesses at the time allowed it to bring in senior managers and business strategists, who took in public on the stock market. It started to encourage people to sell more than just collectibles, and quickly became a massive site where you could sell anything, large or small. Unlike other sites, though, eBay survived the end of the boom, and is still going strong today.

1999 saw eBay go worldwide, launching sites in the UK, Australia and Germany. eBay bought half.com, an Amazon-like online retailer, in the year 2000 - the same year it introduced Buy it Now - and bought PayPal, an online payment service, in 2002.

Pierre Omidyar has now earned an estimated $3 billion from eBay, and still serves as Chairman of the Board. Oddly enough, he keeps a personal weblog at http://pierre.typepad.com. There are now literally millions of items bought and sold every day on eBay, all over the world. For every $100 spent online worldwide, it is estimated that $14 is spent on eBay - that’s a lot of laser pointers.

Now that you know the history of eBay, perhaps you’d like to know how it could work for you? Our next email will give you an idea of the possibilities.

    What is HD DVD?

Filed under: Technology Stuff — admin at 10:29 am on Thursday, April 24, 2008

HD DVD stands for High Definition Digital Versatile Disc. It is a round and thin disc that looks almost exactly like a CD or DVD. It is actually very similar to CDs and DVDs in all aspects except one. The difference is that a HD DVD can hold much more information than the CD/DVDs of the past. The way they packed more information into the same space mainly comes from the color of the laser that is used to read the disc. HD DVDs are read by a blue-violet laser beam instead of the traditional red beam. The blue-violet color has a shorter wavelength that makes it capable of focusing on a smaller more precise area. That way you can just stuff all of the information closer together on the same size disc.

How much more information? An HD DVD holds about 3 times more information than a DVD. With this extra space you can fit HD quality movies and sound. Specifically a 720p/1080i resolution picture vs. a 480i movie on a DVD. A disc can hold any other type of information besides movies, but video is the most popular use for a DVD world wide. This is why many companies are competing to release home theater HD DVD players. Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. and Universal Studios have already released lists of titles that will be available on HD DVD. Toshiba has already announced two players that it will manufacture. HD DVD is in direct competition with Blu-Ray, which implements a similar technology that is not compatible. Blu-Ray was developed by Sony and is backed by the Blu-Ray Association including Apple, Hitachi, Dell, HP, LG, JVC, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, Phillips, Samsung, Sharp, TDK, Thomson and Sony. Both technologies have similar launch dates and offer similar features.

HD DVD players will utilize a new kind of cable called HDMI for transmitting digital picture and sound. This cable has multiple wires for both video and audio that ensures the clearest quality. The use of one wire for both video and audio creates less clutter than previous technology. The players will also feature s-video and component connections to offer a wide range of usage capabilities.

How to cope with a penis that’s very big

Filed under: Health Hub — admin at 10:44 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Having a large penis might seem like every man’s dream, but
there is large and there is too large! Anything over 8 inches is
far too large for most women to handle. Such a penis can be more
of a curse than a gift. In most cases, women find sex with a
large penis painful, mainly because it can knock against their
cervix (the top of the vagina) and can even cause bleeding. So
guys, if you’re well hung, remember to treat your lady’s
privates with a little more respect.

Regardless of size you should be able to enter a girl
comfortably if you take your time. Foreplay is the key, focus on
careful stimulation of the Epicenter, the female degenerated
prostate. You can use this multiple-step approach by Dr. Newman
    K. Lin of the Lin Institute, a research center for multiple,
    sexual orgasm.

The first step is to massage on the labia majors, groins, pubis
and clitoral base to relax the muscle around the vagina and
prepare it for penetration. If you find that this is
insufficient then apply a light Finger Pliers massage to the
G-spot and Clitoral shaft and turn it around 11 and 1 o’clock
position, to stimulate the vaginal muscle relaxation and tenting
    expansion.

The actual penetration is divided into 3 steps: start with
shallow penetration in the first 1/3 of the vagina at the same
time lightly stroking the G-spot and kissing each other for
about 3 minutes. Follow it up with moderate penetration to test
the vaginal flexibility and relaxation with a light stroke, and
if there is no pain deep, time to do deep penetration.

Finally, use Screwing Technique and Kiss the cervix with the
glans penis to avoid thrusting hard. Screwing is vital in love
coupling for massaging vagina and penis in the Chinese sexual
bible “SU-NUI Ching.” There are two screwing technique which
depends on who the driver is. If the male is the driver he
should be allowed to move freely, so the female will lie down,
and the male can lie on her, stand up or knee down to do the
job. On the other hand if the female is the driver, she will sit
on his legs without constraint rotate her upper body right and
left periodically or use her hip to make a circulation motion.

This technique will stimulate the brain to increase the
testosterone level and the burning in the vaginal tissues will
relax the muscle that will tent up and expand the vagina for
    taking heavy strokes or pumping

Screwing with a C.A.T position, will trigger a powerful orgasm
for women. Screwing can also be used to wake up the sexual
energy, increase the vagina lubrication and strengthen an
erection. If a couple screw each other for 10 to 30 minutes
every morning will surely bring them to a humping mode and will
provide enough morning exercises for the loving couples as well.
