The Future Of Gaming Notebooks

Filed under: Technology Stuff — admin at 1:59 am on Monday, June 30, 2008

Move over Desktop PC, it’s the era of the laptop computer, or at least that what the enormous demand implies. Manufacturers are aiming to keep up with this but have warned that supplies could be scarce. Whatever happens in the market place this demand for laptops only seems to be increasing. This is a trade that is looking to enchance on a number of things all in one go so new directions and curiosity is created all the time.

I’ve seen an increasing number of people asking for gaming notebooks. The price points on new technology usually dips rapidly nowadays because everybody is always searching for the new thing to be lauched. Performance is also advancing and gaming on notebooks is becoming more acceptable for gaming by those who need to move around. Power aside, also worthy of a mention is the radically thin chassis designs we are witnessing these days. Despite all the good things of notebooks, desktops should always perform quicker than them. Gaming notebooks are constantly testing the performance margins of laptop compputers so its always a true indicator of how far the technology has come in that relation.

A number of small manufacturers provide custom built laptops to specialist markets. With major manufacturers you commonly don’t have a clue what they fit into the laptop computer. It just provides the buyer added options at the end of the day. Notebooks distributed in shops are commonly designed for the mass market and perhaps this isn’t you. Hardcore users need custom notebooks for this reason. Just like prebuilt notebooks there are lots of brand names selling custom notebooks all with a unique benefit or increase customer sevice. This could be a huge attractor to a couple specialist markets.

It surely will fascinating to see what gets next. The ultra low priced mobiles group seems to be drumming up all the exciting right now. I didn’t feel anyone thought they would be such a big success. People want slim, incredibley light devices but they also want them to have large screens. If you use less slower parts then I estimate this is really possible even now. I am wondering how soon before we run across gaming ultra mobiles. All the companies are looking to release the next massive product so it’ll be interesting to see.

For the cost these are the best laptop computers.

Respond, Don’t React !

Have you ever felt overwhelmed and intimidated by a difficult confrontation involving strong over reactive emotional behavior of someone?

It is an unfortunate reality that we have no control over events or people that come at us in life. We may find ourselves in a difficult situation where someone confronts or criticizes us in an emotionally over reactive way and displays inappropriate behaviour or attitude in our direction. We have no control over that person, but we do have control over our response.

When we are faced with a volatile confrontation we do not need to feel controlled by the emotional behavior of the other person. We do have choices as to how we can respond, and instead of defensively being drawn into a situation we can pause and consider those choices.

Our first decision is whether the cost of engaging in this confrontational situation is worth the consequences. For example, is your life or wellbeing at risk because the person is so out of control that they may use physical violence? It is also important to take a moment to calm yourself so that your response is not emotionally overly reactive. To respond in like manner to any confrontation can escalate the situation and is unproductive.

In such situations I have found the A.C.I.D Process found in Carol Price’s program Assertive Communication Skills very helpful and I would like to explain how it works.
A.C.I.D. is an acronym that can be used to focus your thoughts and enable you to respond in an appropriate manner to the confrontation

A ACKNOWLEDGE .
Acknowledge what the problem is. This means looking at what are the facts, what is real and cannot be changed, when the emotions are set aside.

C COUNTER AND COMPARE
Ask yourself how will this affect the rest of my life? How important is this to the rest of my life? This brings the situation into a larger perspective

I INTERCEPT
This stage addresses the mental self talk that occurs that can lead you down a negative path into thinking that this situation is the ‘end of the world’ and that you are a lesser being. Develop a word or phrase that you can use to intercept your mental negative tape. An example might be ‘These things happen, it’s not the end of the world, this is only a small blip in my life’.

D DECLARATION OF VALUE
This stage positively affirms who you are and your value as a person. An example might be ‘I am competent and am worthy of respect’

If you are dealing with criticism you need to decide are the facts valid or not valid? If the facts are valid can the criticism be changed or not? If it can’t be changed then the criticism is likely to re occur.
If the facts are valid you are faced with two options. Either accept that you made an error and be willing to learn from it, or dwell on it by either blaming yourself or someone else.
Ask yourself whether you are in better shape to accept and learn, or accept and blame.

If, on the other hand, the criticism is not valid or factual and has no real foundation your choices are different. You can refuse to accept it, let it go and not take it on. Alternatively you can choose to confront it either aggressively or assertively. If you confront aggressively the person may very well back off, but confrontation is likely to continue on a different occasion. By confronting assertively, calmly using the facts and accountability, you give back the responsibility to the criticizer. They are more likely to stop as they know you will respond by assertively using facts.

The A.C.I.D. Process is a useful a tool to use, enabling you to avoid giving a non productive strongly emotional response, and approach the situation in a calmer way. Using deep breathing and other relaxation techniques will also give you the space and ability to be able to think and respond more appropriately.

Next time you are faced with a difficult situation , stop to remember A.C.I.D. and choose to respond and not react.

Torrevieja is Almost Last but Not Least

Filed under: Traveling Tips — admin at 10:38 am on Sunday, June 29, 2008

Torrevieja is one of the most important summer holiday spots in the province of Alicante, about 50 kilometres from the city of Alicante and making up what is known as the Costa Blanca or The White Coast. Torrevieja and the town of Pilar de la Horadada are in the southern tip, the last towns before you head into the province of Murcia. When making holiday plans, if you are to arrive there by plane, the closest airport would be the one in Alicante called the Altet. It has great flight combinations with the rest of Europe, especially when flying in from England. It would only take you about half an hour at the most to get safely to your hotel if you have thought about a car hire. Look for the highway marked N-332 heading south and you are set. There are some bus companies connecting Torrevieja with Alicante, Elche and other towns and cities. There are even hotels which have the convenient service of picking up its guests. And if you are in a hurry or do not want to be bothered driving and wish to take in the lovely scenery, then a taxi would do you well.

Salt and Habaneras from Torrevieja

In order to give directions, everyone referred to this town as where the old tower is and therefore in Spanish -Torrevieja, which when translated to English means ‘ an old tower’. This swampy marsh area has been known for its high quality production of salt and one of the places frquently used to store the dried salt was in towers. There was one particular tower which was knocked down when this area was hit by an earthquake in 1829. Even nowadays, this whole area is constantly being shaken by earthquakes, one of the last ones was just a few months ago. Although it is visited thanks to its beautiful beaches such as the Cura, the Locos or the Mata, it is also visited because it has become popular for its habaneras, Cuban music. One might think that it is quite strange that such far away music has planted its roots so strongly in a little salt mining town in Spain. But there is a very reasonable explanation. Torrevieja carried on a constant flow of salt trading with Cuba and the sailors who did this route were spellbound by this lively music and wanted to share it with their home folks and brought it back here. As we can well see, its has been happily transmitted from one generation to another. There is a fantastic international music festival of habaneras held annually at the end of July or the beginning of August. If you are in the area at this time of the year and wish further details, the Patronizer of the Competition ( Patronato Municipal del Certamen International de Habaneras ) can help you or look in the web.

Natural Parks to visit

When you leave Torrevieja on the highway marked C-332, you will be heading for the Natural park of the Lagoons of the Mata. To be sure you will be able to visit this paradise correctly, it would be recommendable to get information and book a date because there is a maximum of 35 people allowed at a time. The most interesting fauna are the birds like the stone curlew and in the winter there is a great concentration of the diving birds and important nucleus of storks, eagles and and avocets. On the other hand, the salt swamps export salt all over the world. And if that was not enough, salt baths are also recommended for some types of illnesses such as arthritis and skin diseases having become quite popular in the 19th century. But the best part of this excursion is when the sun reflects in these salt mountains.

Even though this city has a lot to do, it is easy and fun to make day excursion travelling up the Costa Blanca to visit Santa Pola on the outskirts of Alicante, then on to Benidorm with its fantastic theme parks of all kinds, Altea and Javea. Get the most out of your stay and travel.

Robert Carlton publishes many articles for the website http://www.alicante-spain.com/torrevieja.html. The author is helping people finding the travel solutions for the Costa Blanca area and cities around like Calpe, Denia or Murcia. He works in San Juan a town nearby Alicante Spain.

VOIP Facilitates Small Businesses

Filed under: Hall Of Telecommunication — admin at 9:45 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2008

Imagine, VOIP has been declared by greats like Forbes.com to be “the four letter word for growth.” It is widely acknowledged that technology can spur growth and businesses, even small ones that integrate new technologies, have a strategic and competitive edge over others.

VOIP offers great benefits. It involves the setting up of just one network that will encompass so many functions at extremely affordable costs. Studies show that the phone bill can be culled to half or even lower.

Although cost savings is reason 1 for installing VoIP there are by other great advantages. In the case of small businesses, you can choose any area code irrespective of where you operate from. So, if most of your clients are in Atlanta but you are based in New York you can choose a connection with an Atlanta code. This enables you to create a sound business presence in many cities. The system allows setting up of toll-free lines which creates the image of a large business. If you choose a plan carefully you will be able to make unlimited free calls for a fixed payment, forward calls, call internationally for a very low charge, and expand the reach of your operation.

A VoIP system moves with you, erasing the problems associated with business travel or other kinds of moves like shifting office or home.

As a business person, you or you office staff will always know who called because of “unified messaging.” And the system collates all the messages such that you can prioritize responses. And, what is even more alluring is that business can retrieve messages via telephone, PC, laptop, or PDA. So, your customers receive 24/7 service and are never disappointed.

The VoIP system allows multiple employees to manage customer calls. Creates a “mini” call center expanding business potential and facilitates better utilization of scarce resources. This leads to immediate solutions for customers. Useful features are click-to-call, web based voice mail, integrated conferencing, auto-attendant capabilities, and call routing.

In case of corporate use, VoIP allows the use of a single high speed internet connection for all voice, video, and data communications. It permits convergence. By incorporating a single data network across all offices and employees the business can reduce operating costs, increase productivity and efficacy, and enhance communications and customer services.

What you need to do, is seek expert advice and find out all you can about quality, infrastructure, costs, and advantages as well as disadvantages. Technology moves with time so keep in mind aspects like upgrading of system and maintenance.

The system introduces efficiency, effectiveness, professionalism, and a customer oriented approach to the smallest of businesses, lending the business the advantages of otherwise unattainable infrastructure.

Asset Allocation Is The Key To Financial Success.

Filed under: Business Affairs, Infos, Investment Hub — admin at 4:16 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Asset Allocation primarily involves categorizing an investment option amongst various asset categories that is offered. It could be in the form of a stock, fund or a share and the option that you choose is thoroughly a self made decision that will decide the time you could go about tolerating the risk.

Any major investment involves some amount of risk. It could be you come out thoroughly victorious, or it could be that you loose some amount of your investment or the complete amount. Hence prior to investing it is advisable get the complete market report on the asset you purchase or invest upon. Well if we overlook the negativities and focus on the positives then the reward for taking on risk is the potential for a greater investment return in the longer run. For short term investments it is advised that one tries cash investments.

By having an in-depth knowledge regarding the asset that the investor wishes to invest upon he becomes aware of the possible losses he could incur in case of a wrong initiation that he takes during the investment part. Incase you invest on three primary assets then it is obvious that the returns from all the three assets wouldn’t be the same. You might garner high returns from one investment and loose out from the other couple of them and vice-versa.

So it is always advisable to invest in more then one asset at a time so that the chances of an overall loss are avoided. In addition, asset allocation is important because it has major impact on whether you will meet your financial goal. If you don’t include enough risk in your portfolio, your investments may not earn a large enough return to meet your long time goal.

Perfectly picked at their peek of freshness and aromatic fragrance.

Sure you try the produce market at you local grocery looking for bright red tomatoes that give a little to the touch but don’t feel mushy. Your journey is unsuccessful instead you settle for the less than perfect specimen, pale and still a little green in color. Your hope is it will ripen at room temperature on the kitchen counter and be ready to use in a couple of days. Disappointment follows it has no taste whatsoever.

Cravings are persistent and lead to more intense desires for the fresh taste of summer time tomatoes.

Capt’n Salsa has a simple and acceptable solution for you. Considering the snow covered garden out the back window and your cravings are growing more intense each day it is time to reach for the “canned tomatoes”.

Hey hear me out just a minute, okay?

Canned tomatoes, yes whole canned tomatoes are the closest tasting to fresh tomatoes you can find. Look for whole tomatoes packed in juice not the sauce or the puree for the best taste. The whole canned tomatoes can easily be chopped or even added whole during cooking to most of your favorite recipes. Actually, go ahead and use the diced canned tomatoes again grabbing the ones packed in juice.

Diced tomatoes are coarsely chopped during the canning process saving you a lot of time and of course the messy cleanup of chopping canned whole tomatoes. Add them right out of the can to your favorite sauces, soups and pasta dishes, using them just as you would your fresh garden tomatoes.

Homemade tomato salsa?

Sure, just remember to drain the juice first reserving it for a special “Bloody Mary” later.

Goal Setting To Make You Happy

Filed under: Management Portal — admin at 3:53 pm on Thursday, June 19, 2008

After years of research on happiness, money, life and goals, here are some of my key findings.

Researchers from the University of Illinois and Pennsylvania State declare that, in a 1985 survey, the Maasai of East Africa were almost equally satisfied with life as some of the 400 richest Americans on the Forbes list. The Maasai are a traditional herding people who have no electricity or running water and live in huts made of dung.

Goal. Realize that making huge amounts of money doesn’t necessarily buy happiness. Maybe it’s time to stop competing with the neighbours for the flashiest car. Money, power, fame or status should not be treated as the goal, rather as resources towards more meaning and purpose. Perhaps the goal will be more freedom, control and health in your life.

People who are truly successful look at their values and live a rich and rewarding life created through healthy relationships, personal integrity, and discovery. They are not concerned with impressing others with wealth and status.

Goal: Spending more time with family, friends and the community can be an inexpensive yet incredibly rewarding experience as opposed to watching TV or shopping. Being honest with yourself and open to new adventures certainly adds spice to life as well.

People happiest in their jobs are the ones that remain truly engaged, learn something new everyday, and have a connection with different groups and networks.

Goal: Start learning new things. Discover your passions and build on them. Seek information. This is what leads to true meaning and purpose in ones career.

Summary. Being clear on your life goals leads to a much more satisfying life.

1) After basic needs are met, money doesn’t buy much more happiness.

2) Our relationships with others provide some of our greatest values and inspirations.

3) Connecting with your work and continuously seeking value adding information makes life much more satisfying.

Understanding Lemon Law

Filed under: Legal Counsel Tips — admin at 7:59 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2008

A lemon law is a type of law that protects consumers from getting bad products, in this case, vehicles. In the United States, each of the states has its own form of lemon law. Each state regulates how much is to be provided as well as what standards each vehicle must be sold under. In basic terms, if the manufacturer says that the vehicle runs well and it doesn’t, then they are in violation of the lemon law of that state depending on the states specific standards. In most cases, anyone selling a bad car must replace it or refund the money for the car.

But, remember that each state is different. Each state has its own requirement for how much should be provided by the previous owner to the current owner. Also, in most cases, any defaults in the vehicle should be presented to the new owner prior to the purchase. If you find that a new car has actually been used, for example, you can have the dealership repurchase it from you or provide you with the new car.

It is important, though, that you check out your state’s exact wording on the lemon law. What should you do if you think someone has violated the lemon law on your purchase?

• Contact your attorney and ask them if they feel that you may have been violated. Many will provide free counseling to provide you with an understanding if you do have a case or not.

• Make sure to keep your paperwork. It is very important for you to have any and all documentation of the car, its history and its current condition in your hand.

• The attorney will tell you about the lemon law of the state and you will decide what the next step is from there.

• You should contact your attorney prior to trying to deal with the company yourself as to avoid more problems.
