It was common to have white canopy beds sheets in everybodys bedroom quite some time back. You are stunned at the range of unique that are on offer today. Nobody had considered that bedding could be made using such lovely pastel tones and several fabrics.

The following are some factors that matter a lot when you buy a bed sheet.

Measure the size of your bed

It is a common myth that one queen bed or king bed has the same proportions which is so untrue. Usually the top measurings dont differ a lot but the other proportions vary with each bed producer. So make sure that you estimate all the measurings of your bed from top to bottom and also the thickness of the mattress you are using. Often similar beds from the same brand are longer or wider than each other. It is always better to be ready with your beds proportions prior to shopping.

Determine from where to purchase

You will find a lot of top makes in bed linen available in a departmental storehouse near you. If you want something ethnic like embroidered bedding or lush ones there might be a shop selling what you want close by. If you still cannot find what you want, try the online storehouses. In case you wish to buy regular you can get a good deal at a discount outlet.

Do you know what is a thread count?

A thread count refers to the amount of threads contained in one square inch of the bed sheet in both directions of the weave. The label of the bed sheet has the thread count impressed on it. A lush grain calls for a high thread count. Beware of a very high thread count as the sheet may have thinner threads and not the texture you want. It is advisable that you go for a thread count in the range of 175 to 250 for a soft sheet under you.

Pick your bed sheet material

A material that is reasonably priced and feels nice to sleep on is the one for you. Though cotton is the most preferred material, some people go for the cotton blends as they do not crease. A crisp night calls for a flannel bed sheet. Then there is the all time favorite silk, satin or microfiber that offers luxury.

Caring directions

Read the wash and care instructions for the sheets properly before purchasing them. Silk sheets cannot be machine washed as they are delicate. Can you promise to do this? Hence choose a bed sheet that you can afford and require less maintenance.

Hope these six steps lead you to finding a perfect bed sheet for your bed.
