Ken Mehlman of KKR
In 2006, Ken Mehlman took the position as Managing Director and Head of Global Public Affairs in Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. The position focused on constructive outreach to the numerous stakeholders of KKR and its portfolio companies around the world, including relationships with governments, third parties, and NGOs.
Ken Mehlman is the son of Judith A. Mehlman and Arthur S. Mehlman, a director of MuniMae and formerly a partner at KPMG. Mehlman is a known political strategist who formerly chaired the Republican National Committee. The American attorney was also the campaign manager for President Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign.
Aside from being a devoted Republican, Ken Mehlman is a famous politician who is proud of his Jewish roots. This is a fact he noted in response to Howard Dean’s suggestion that the Republican Party was “pretty much a white Christian party.”
Ken Mehlman received his B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School in 1991. He is also member of the District of Columbia and Maryland Bars. Aside from that he is a trustee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Franklin & Marshall College, and the Strong American Schools Foundation.
