Where we all belong

Random Acts Of Kindness

Filed under: Better Relationships — admin at 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2008

It’s been said “what we put out into the universe is what the universe shall return to us”. Others call it Karma, and many believe it’s no more than “doing the next right thing. To show a random act of kindness, expect and accept nothing in return, for to do so would only take away the value of giving. Only when we give from the heart, silently and genorously do we find our true spiritual being. An energy that has dwelled within us all, long before we took the tainted values of years and years of socities “What’s in it for me” selfish ideoligies. When we can clearly see how one simple deed can bring a miraculous amount of joy to countless others, only then can we truly see that it’s not about “What’s in it for me”, but “What can I do for others during my short visit in this “Material world”.

We sometimes forget how good it makes us feel to give to someone in need. When we do help another and expect nothing in return. It sets off a chemical reaction inside of us which signals us that this is who we really are, who we were meant to be, and how we were suppose to live our lives, unselfishly and aligned with the universal power of love. That is why it feels so good to help another, to give without unselfish motive or expected to receive special favor. It feels right because it is right! We feel good because we have done something good. The feeling we receive isn’t by accident, but by design. It feels beautiful because live was designed to be beautiful, filled with love and brotherhood, much unlike the lives we lead in this fast paced dog-eat dog world. This is our escape from the evolution of self-centeredness, self seeking, and self righteousness.

When we give from our heart we receive that joy right back from the universe, or what ever source you believe to be your higher power. The gift we receive is priceless, yet unfortunately not timeless. The emotional high can only be substained by a continuous and selfless stream of giving. I believe we were always intended to be loving and caring to each other when we were all at one time aligned with the good intentions of life itself. Only humans have changed. The changing of the seasons can be counted on year after year. The trees and the flowers keep their same routine as do the animals who have kept the same routine forever.

What can we do to get our self aligned with everything else, including peace and harmony and just to feel good about our selves and those around us? Give without receiving, love without being loved in return, put a smile on a strangers face even when you are feeling troubled, and believe you were not put here to be unhappy, but to reap the joy, share your heart with another, and continue to do random acts of kindness, and you will receive your peace and serenity in exchange. Spread the love, Enjoy the peace, feel the harmony, and reap the blessings.

Know More About Engagement Rings

Filed under: Better Relationships — admin at 5:04 am on Saturday, May 24, 2008

A man’s proposal to a woman would never be complete without an
engagement ring. Engagement rings have been part of the
tradition of countries all over the world. Engagement rings
symbolize love and commitment to the person given with it.

All engagement rings come with diamonds from various sizes and
no other stone can be placed with it. It has been interpreted
that the round and never ending shape of the ring symbolizes the
never-ending love and devotion to a woman. It is also a sign of
offering ones commitment to the other person.

There are many types of engagement rings that are sold in the
market. However, there are things that need to be considered
before buying one like the type of ring, the diamond, the trends
that are in the market and even the value. When choosing an
engagement ring, these are the things that buyers need to check
on.

The diamond of the engagement ring should be considered before
all things. There are four areas to look for in a good diamond.
They are the cut, clarity, color and carat.

When the cut is considered, it simply means the number of angles
that are in the diamond including their proportions. The cut
gives luster to the diamond. The fire or the shine of the
diamond will depend on how many cuts are in it. The more cuts in
the diamond, the more costly it becomes.

Diamonds are colored yellow in nature. The colorless ones are
considered to be the most expensive and the most sought for
diamonds. These colorless diamonds are very rare, which is why
they are priced higher than the yellow ones. When considering an
engagement ring, it is better to choose one that has a colorless
diamond.

Clarity of diamonds refers to the impurities that are in them.
These impurities resulted from pressure, heat, and rock
sedimentation for over thousands of years. Clarity of a diamond
could not be judged using the naked eyes. However, those
diamonds that are priced higher are considerably high in clarity.

Acquiring an engagement ring may be done through cash or credit
in jewelry stores. There are various types that are sold and
some may come in installment plans. When buying from a jewelry
store, the name and the credibility of the store should be
considered. This will ensure that the engagement ring is
authentic and has a very good quality. There are also engagement
rings that can be found in pawnshops where great savings are
guaranteed.

There are also some who use an inherited ring as engagement
rings. These may be rings that were passed over to the sons and
grandsons and should be given to the women they would like to
marry. Those who have inherited these rings are considered
fortunate since they surely saved thousands of dollars plus,
they were able to impress their girlfriends with this romantic
approach.

Engagement rings come in different trends and styles. This will
depend on the taste of the person who selected a specific
engagement ring. There are men who prefer the classic or the
antique types of engagement rings. On the other hand, many
prefer the trendy ones. The trend nowadays includes platinum and
white gold for rings.

Men should not forget the commitment that comes with an
engagement ring, no matter the price, the style or how large the
diamond is in the ring. The symbol engagement rings carry should
not be forgotten. It does not matter whether a ring is expensive
or not, what matters is the commitment to love and devotion that
should be kept once a ring is offered to a woman.

Relationship Advice: A Map for Your Marriage

Filed under: Better Relationships — admin at 6:01 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Have you ever been lost?

My favorite line about being lost comes from an old “M*A*S*H” episode where Hawkeye says, “We’re not lost. I’ve been lost before, and this is not what it looks like.”

We all know the drill - you thought you knew where you were going, so you didn’t bring a map, and you found yourself so hopelessly turned around that you had no idea where to go next.

Ever feel that way in your relationship?

To Plan or Not to Plan

Consider with me the last vacation you were able to take. Think back to all the planning that was involved, things such as where to go, what to take with you, notifying people you would be gone and even consulting a map on how to get there.

Quite a bit of preparation, conscious thought and planning goes into a successful vacation.

Now, consider this: How much planning and conscious thought has gone into your marriage?

It’s truly amazing how some folks will spend more time planning a two-week vacation than they do planning how they would like their marriage relationship to be.

Most of us seem to stumble into relationships and marriage and then continue to kind of make it up as we go along.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to create a map to guide us on our journey through marriage?

Creating a relationship map

Actually, there are several different ways. One of the simplest, and yet most profound, is through modeling.

When you want to do something that you have never done before, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You simply find someone who has done or is doing what you want to do, discover what they have done or do, and do it as well.

This idea of modeling works so well because success leaves a trail that can be followed.

In terms of marriage, look around your own world for the couples who have the strongest and most enjoyable marriages. That doesn’t mean they don’t have their share of struggles. It just means they have found a way to manage them in a way that strengthens their marriage.

So how do you find out what their map has been to get them to where they are?

Simple - just ask! While it may seem awkward at first, most folks are honored to be asked and very willing to help.

Here are some questions to ask successful couples about how to build your own relationship map. Start with general questions and then get more specific:

What do you think has made your marriage so successful?

What are the top five things that go into a healthy relationship?

What do you have to believe about your spouse to keep your marriage strong?

How do you handle small conflicts?

How do you handle larger conflicts?

How do you come to agreement about your finances?

How do you come to agreement on how to handle the children?

How do you divide domestic chores?

What do you do on a daily basis to keep the spark alive?

What has been your biggest challenge as a married couple? How did you handle it?

Do you keep the toilet seat up or down?

These are just a sampling of the many questions you can ask successful couples. You can come up with your own or even better questions to help you create your own map.

The most important factor is to simply ask and then put into action what you discover.

A ceremony that celebrates

Filed under: Better Relationships, Counseling, Life Of Lifestyle — admin at 3:57 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2008

A wedding is a ceremony that celebrates the beginning of a marriage or civil union between two people; many changes to the service have occurred in recent years. Although the service may be quite lengthy and involved, it is not complete until the legal aspect is fulfilled; a legal document called a marriage license must be signed before the law recognizes a couple is married. A woman taking part in the ceremony is called a bride, a man called a bridegroom; after the ceremony they become a wife and a husband, respectively.

Having a Wedding Ceremony in a Church

Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Many people, whether religious or not, still prefer to have a traditional ceremony performed by a recognized religious minister in a Church of their choice. Of course we all know and love the white wedding but this is not the generally accepted form of ceremony in every Christian country.

Double Ceremonies

A double marriage is a single ceremony where two couples rendezvous for two separate ceremonies; ceremonies such as this are usually instigated by siblings who like the idea of a simultaneous marriage.

Foreign Resort Weddings

These days it is easy for couples to arrange a wedding in another country and have the guests travel to them with the honeymoon continuing afterwards; whether this happens for an intimate beach ceremony in the Caribbean, or extravagant nuptials in Las Vegas, it will qualify as a destination wedding.

Weekend Break Weddings

A weekend wedding is where couples and their guests celebrate over the course of a weekend. Other occasions come under the term of either themed or special activity which usually takes place over a weekend period. This is quite a good idea especially if the bride and groom have similar interests as both they and their guests can stay at the same location.

An Online Wedding Ceremony

Although it has not really caught on yet, a few bold and different people have decided to tie the knot online but it may be sometime before this style of wedding really becomes more popular; There are already a number of companies based online can help you find out more information about his unusual type of ceremony. Strangely, if you decide to have your marriage shown online in real time it is called an online wedding.

Why Titanium Wedding Rings Might Be For You

Filed under: Better Relationships — admin at 11:39 pm on Monday, March 31, 2008

Is a titanium wedding ring for you? I found that titanium is an interesting metal, and that a titanium wedding ring really is something you should consider. Titanium is actually very common on earth, but until 1791, we humans didn’t even know it existed. Even then, though, we couldn’t isolate it for another 100 years or so. It is a gray metal that is used in alloys because of it is light and resistant nature. Besides from the earth, it has also been found in moon rocks and meteorites.

Besides titanium wedding rings, the metal has many uses. Because it resists corrosion from most anything, including salt water, acids, and even corrosive cases, it is ideal for many industries. It is used in medicine, aviation, and engineering to develop everything from prosthetic implants to building frames. It is also an inert and hypoallergenic material so it can be used most anywhere.

Titanium wedding rings are popular for many of these same reasons. Unlike with silver or gold, it is rare for a person to be allergic to a titanium wedding ring. The durability and resistance to corrosion also make titanium wedding rings a worthy investment. After all, it is a piece of jewelry you will be wearing basically every day for the rest of your life. It is also light weight for the level of strength is provides, so wearing it will not get in the way of your day to day activities like some heavier metals might.

Functionality is not the only reason to think about a titanium wedding ring, though. It is a very beautiful metal as well. Not unlike white gold or silver in appearance, it polishes up very nicely. The durability then allows that beauty to be easily maintained even through the daily wear and tear that is so common with wedding jewelry. Also, by use of different polishes and finishes, titanium wedding rings can be made in a variety of looks with a plethora of shades and colors. Often time, heat can bring about color change in titanium and is thus used by jewelers to get different looks for different titanium wedding rings.

Another way jewelers will create unique looks in titanium wedding rings is through inlays. Titanium can easily be inlaid with various precious metals and gems. Because of its strength, titanium is more difficult to work with, but once it is made how you like it will keep its look and likely last you a lifetime.

Titanium is one of the great discoveries of the last two hundred years. It is useful in a number of industries and technologies and has unique properties that make it incredibly versatile. However, it also makes for great jewelry. Titanium wedding rings are becoming more and more popular because of the durability they offer you. Wedding rings are worn a lot so the strength and beauty of titanium makes for a great combination that you should consider when it comes time to choose your wedding ring material.
