Making a Will

Filed under: Business Affairs, Counseling, Finance Programs — admin at 10:40 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2010

Don t leave your loved ones with additional expense and complications.
Individuals who pass away without an up to date will, or intestate, result in complications and costs to their beneficiaries and often gift thousands of pounds to the Country in what may be avoidable Inheritance Tax (IHT).

The Law Society says that anyone with assets and family or friends should make a will, irrespective of their age. It is particularly important if you are not married to your partner, because the law does not accord partners the same rights automatically of inheritance as spouses.
Assets which are owned jointly by unmarried partners on a joint tenancy basis would still go to automatically to the surviving spouse under the rules of survivorship. Under the current intestacy rules, an unmarried partner has no rights to assets and property that were not jointly owned (although the Law Commission has recently proposed to change this).

Getting a will is also essential if you have minors, as you can appoint guardians to look after them.

It is vital to make a list of assets and liabilities and their approximate worth. Include your property, investment, savings, insurance policies and pension.
In addition, think about individual legacies. Merely telling a family member that an item will be his or hers one day could cause upset later.

You should get professional advice on estate planning as part of writing your will. Simple measures could save the beneficiaries of more prosperous householders thousands of £’s in taxation.

An essential element of constructing a will is the naming of executors to ensure that your will instructions are carried out correctly.

You should also update your will every five years or so and whenever your situation are altered by a substantial life event, such as marriage, split up or a birth or death in the immediate family. Another example would be after a house purchase or move.

Whoever constructs up your will, make sure 1 copy is kept secure or deposit one with a probate registry.

Compare Gas Prices

Filed under: Counseling, Life Of Lifestyle, Living With Shopping — admin at 2:02 pm on Monday, October 19, 2009

This may be a surprise when you compare gas prices, but the amount you pay could depend on the type of meter you have installed.

Some six million people in the UK have a prepayment meter, which means they have to pay for their electricity and gas upfront. While this can have some advantages, it does usually means that you will pay an above average rate for your gas and electricity.

Having a prepayment meter means you can easily keep track of the amount of gas you usewhich can help you manage your budget more easily. If you have gone into arrears with your energy supplier, a prepayment meter can help you clear this.

The downside is that, if you compare gas prices, you will quickly find that prepayment meters have many disadvantages. The most obvious is the inconvenience. You will often have to make trips to the shop to top up your card or key. And if you don’t get to the shop in time, your gas supply could be switched off.

In addition, the best deals on the energy market are not available to people who pay using a prepayment meter.

If you are on a prepayment meter, you may want to compare gas prices available on a conventional credit meter, to see if it could save you money.

You will be able to switch to a credit account if you have been debt free for at least three months.

Once you have a standard meter in place, you will be able to compare the various gas suppliers’ tariffs, to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

The quickest way to do this is to visit a price comparison site. Instead of contacting all the suppliers in your area to compare gas prices, all you will need to do is answer a few straightforward questions.

Some suppliers enable you to switch online, through the comparison site. Consequently, you could begin saving money immediately.

Whether you decide to stay with a prepayment meter, or move to a standard meter, you may be able to save money when you compare gas prices and switch supplier.

Important Facts for Parents of New Drivers

Filed under: Counseling, Four-Wheelers, Insurance + Security — admin at 12:06 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Getting a driver’s license can be one of the exciting experiences for teenagers. Nonetheless it could be of the most dangerous times of their lives. In the UK it is estimated that over 3000 car drivers under the age of twenty-five are killed or severely injured in an accident. Knowing these facts can help you set limits with your own children to keep them safe on the roads.

18 years old drivers are 3 times as likely to be engaged in an accident than a driver aged 45. Many young people have not been driving long enough to gain the experience to deal with unexpected situations. Other drivers may cause them harm even if they themselves are driving safely. Part of being a good driver is not only watching out for yourself but others on the road - which is almost impossible for young drivers!

If they are engaged in an accident it is important that have good insurance. Young drivers insurance can be prohibitavely pricey and many young people do not bother. There are some new options. New insurance companies like Coverbox are offer car insurance for young drivers based on the pay as you drive model.. This insurance actively discourages young drivers from driving at the most dangerous times - such as the early hours - by making the insurance much more dear during this period.

Nevertheless rawness isn’t the single that distinguishes young drivers from their older counterparts. Attitude has a big part to play in reckless driving. Young adults, especially men, are often much more confident in their abilities, more than should be, and take on extra risks because they feel they can handle it. Statistically, if a young driver has pals in the car with them they are twice as likely to attempt hazardous driving to make an impression. Jerky driving, dangerous Passing and general racing are the more common feats. Men are twice as likely to do these stunts and over thirty-three percent of them finish up in car accidents two years after acquiring their license.

Young drivers are not entirely to blame. Parents and role models set the standards through their own driving practices. As their guardians and protectors it is up to you to show them proper ways to handle situations by demonstration and having conversations about safe driving. Set your limitations and rules with your children and keep them to them for their own safety and future.

Choosing a Respectable Employment Site

Filed under: Counseling — admin at 2:46 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2009

A common misconception when it comes to job hunting is that all job search engines are one and the same. This couldn’t be further from the truth. There are definitely good sites, and not-so-good sites. Before you start your job search, make sure you do the research and use the more reputable sources. The legitimate job search engines have more navigable websites. When narrowing down your search, you’re able to identify criteria that meet your needs and preferences. You can type in keywords or choose from menus for industry, job category, salary, etc. These websites will display relevant results that actually make sense for you. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve browsed some lesser-known websites, and an employment listing would pop up that had nothing to do with my area of focus. A good job site will also suggest related or similar jobs based on your preferences. It will be able to recognize the similarities between one employment listing and another, even if they have different keywords. Sometimes we overlook jobs, simply because there are so many. So it is very helpful to have suggestions.Another important element a reputable job site will have is the ability to save documents to their database. That way, if you want to answer to an employment listing, you can easily retrieve your resume and cover letter and send it directly through the website. There’s no hassle, and you don’t have to sift through your own files to find what you want to send. A good site will also allow you to save your search criteria. So next time you log on, you can just choose a past search rather than inputting all your criteria all over again.

Ideas Today

Filed under: Counseling, Home Improvement Stuff, Living With Products — admin at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 10, 2009

Want to knwo what I’ve been up to for the last few weeks? Here it is. You should find something of value here today. You wouldn’t comprehend how these were timely finds for me.

The Right Tent

A couple days ago we got back from camping. We were late so we had to hike at dusk to the camp site a mile or two off the trail. The type of camping tents we had wasn’t right for the occasion so we had to go shopping. This was a close call for shopping for a camping tent. It arrived right on time. Whew. At first I thought I had the wrong camping tent, then we assembled it and it was good. I recommend paying extra for fast shipping. The mountains are so beautiful. It was an awesome time. We’re planning another one right now!

Left the House Locked and Loaded

My wife told me that I absolutely had to get a home security system installed before we left. Sometimes what is on your computer and electronics is super valuable. Theft does crazy things to your head I think. You feel so violated. We searched through the phone book first but ultimately found the best security system deals online. I can’t believe the short time it took to install. The peace of mind is totally worthwhile.

Energy Drinks

Camping wiped me out after the first few hours. I needed a pick me up. We quickly found out how much of a energy boost efusjon could give us - it was awesome. Camping activities with kids can be exhausting - especially for seven days. Good thing we packed these efusjon drinks. We joined the ‘a’ team at efusjon and bought in for the drink alone. Get in before it’s too late - get on the ‘a’ team at efusjon. Start making money now - get in today.

Until next time, I’m out. Let me know if this helped!
