Introducing a Brand New Quilting Ruler - the Double Diamond

Filed under: The Beautiful Life — admin at 12:22 pm on Monday, February 1, 2010

Today’s quilter has access to an endless choice of quilting notions including marking pens, cutting tools, threads, rulers and templates to list simply a few. As the time to make a new quilted item approaches it may appear difficult to know what materials to select and how to start. A new quilting ruler named the Double Diamond Ruler is a good place to start.

The Double Diamond Ruler provides a great way for you to add a diamond-shaped ornamentation to any project. Making a diamond pattern was rather cumbersome to accomplish before the introduction of the Double Diamond Ruler. Previously the process required making a pattern onto fusible interfacing, pressing it onto the material and then clipping the lines you drew with scissors. Talk about time consuming! The Double Diamond Ruler ended all that.

With two sizes available the Double Diamond Ruler now helps you easily create either 1 1/2″ and 3 1/2″ wide diamonds. Utilize the 1 1/2″ Double Diamond Ruler to create an eye-catching eyeglass case or shoulder strap for your purse. Select the 3 1/2″ Double Diamond Ruler and begin adding distinctive, dimensional diamonds to wall hangings, table runners or even table toppers.

Once you’ve decided which sized Double Diamond Ruler will work best for your project you’ll want to pick out 3 quality fabrics to work with: a main fabric, contrast fabric and background fabric. Solid color cloths work best but the diamonds do not show well if you utilize large prints. Nonetheless, small prints can result in an intersting effect.

Check out the online idea gallery at Bright Quilting Notions for assistance with how to start. In addition to ideas, there are patterns, kits and even an instructional video to help you get started. You don’t have to search for the right gift for the creative child in your life anymore, you can pick up Aqua Beads! Aqua Bead sets are fun for very young children to older children who love creating interesting crafts

Aqua Beads are a relatively new addition to the crafting world for children! They are small beads that are not unlike those that used to need to be ironed to have them stick together and create a design! The great thing about Aqua Beads that that there is no hot iron involved in creating these unique craft projects, instead all that is needed is a spray of water! This means that the child needs little or no help from their parents and the mess and danger factor is all but eliminated. If you want an interesting gift option, an Aqua Bead Set is the way to go!

Aqua Beads can be purchased as a set. When you purchase them as a set you receive the beads as well as templates. Younger children will find that the templates are very easy to follow and will be able to do them on their own. The beads are set into place, they are sprayed with water, and they’re done! The reward is almost instantaneous and is so much fun! Older children can create their own designs and make one of a kind crafts that can be given as gifts or kept as mementos! Simply a lot of fun to play with and much safer than the beading projects of the past!

Tattoos

Tattoos have always been a dominant manifestation of art for all the generation we’ve known. It doesn’t end there as a mere change on the skin’s pigmentation but a lot more. It roots from deep feelings, may it be bliss to a heavy rage of anger. Tattoos are done for decorative reasons as part of their culture and tradition. Some of which represents their social stature, work, and function in his/her respective community. However, the latter list of having a tattoo is the most haste and the fundamental wisdom of the said wondrous art.

This splendid and ever innovating kind of art is an aawe-inspiring experiencefor most people I know who practice the process of permanent skin pigmenting and to those who actually does have tattoos on them. I asked a friend of mine once, who is a tattoo fanatic, needles to say that she has 10 red and black colorful designs all over her body (mind you, all her tattoos were designed by her depending on her sentiments and life occurrences.), I got too curious and ask her one day, why and how could she stand the pain while the pins and needles dawn on her skin every time she go through the procedure of getting a tattoo. Know what she said? A very passionate answer “I can’t feel the worldly pain caused by the process. All I think of is the fervent emotion.” I feel silent for a while after that. I never asked anything like that again to anyone. It was so weird but full of honesty. I realized that this unique and magnificent form of body art is not just of various colors and design but also of utmost human passion and feelings.
