Where we all belong

Material World

Filed under: World Of Psychology — admin at 6:53 pm on Thursday, May 22, 2008

Should we be of the mind to just focus on the material world? I
mean isn’t there more to all this than just what we can see? I
mean don’t I have a soul and if I do, what part does this play
in the material world? Yes there is more than the material world
but it is a very important part of the picture in general and it
is part of who we are and this will never change.

What controls this material world? That would be your ego. What
is the beast you speak of? Your right it is a beast and it is
what controls us in the material world, through the ages that
part of the mind that we call ego has taken over and tried to
convince you that you are a person having a spiritual
experience. Wrong we are spiritual beings having a human
experience.

We could go on and on about why we are here. Let us try to focus
on the ego and how it all began. Here goes one of my theories,
when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden before they ate the
forbidden fruit there was no ego. None nope not one bit. How
then can this be true if the ego was breed into us and has
gotten out of control and since the first and beginning,
realization was when they ate the fruit?

Now it is no wonder they call this fruit! When we partook of
this extending of the fruit we were brought into this material
world that was different from the original part of the garden of
Eden, we now knew that we were naked and who told us this little
tad bit of information? When we ate of the fruit of first
realization that we were indeed were part of the God mind, hence
where we came from, call it the big bang theory. Call it what
ever you want, the point I am trying to get at here is that we
ate the fruit and then we realized that we had an ego and from
that moment on and down threw the ages it has grown stronger and
stronger until at present it is out of control and is ruining
our spiritual self, which is endless and eternal.

How can ego become part of us? When we first realized that we
came from God and that there would one day be millions of minds
all connected to the one central brain of the universe, which
holds us all, separately yet unquincly different and everything
we do has an effect on eternity and the one mind that you can
tap into at anyone one time is the same mind that Jesus tapped
into to create all his miracles and this same power is in you.

Jesus said that these things that I do, so shall you do even
greater, now if this is the case wouldn’t we need to be of the
same mind as God to create these miracles as Jesus so clearly
stated that we shall do works greater than him. Now do people
believe that they can truly do the same works as Jesus? I bet
you are saying no way, why not? Was he a liar? Was he a lunatic
or was he the son of God, as we all are and our birthright was
to have this universal mind the same one as Christ had and
become children of the moist high God. The holy sprit says that
it will never leave or forsake us, are these some magical words
or are they the words of GOD. I believe when we all ate of the
fruit, which if we are all one and the same then we had eaten
the fruit also and this is were the ego takes over, telling us
we are all separate and single.

We are all connected at the hip so to speak and the ego the
first realization that we were one with God, the mind said hey
what happens to me after your life is over? If it can get us to
the point that we are all-different from the rest and think, we
are having a human experience and not a spiritual one, then it
has won.

What are some of the things that the ego wants us to believe?
That we are separate from all others, that we do not need anyone
you can do it all yourself. That you are better than anyone else
is. You have to fight for your right to be right in any
conversation and do what you must to make sure you are right, at
whatever cost! Thing another race and thinking that there is
only one RIGHT God and of coarse it is ours, not yours, everyone
else is wrong. Well I have news for the ego, there is only one
GOD and yes we are all part of the universal mind and we are
having a spiritual experience.

The ego would have you believe that the world of matter is all
there is and when you die that’s all there is and as long as he
can keep uou thinking this the better off he is. Now let’s look
at why we are spiritual beings. We all come from the same God or
universal mind and that makes us all brothers and sisters, how
can we ever be separated form them?

We all were built in the image of God, that’s why the human
features are so close to being the same. Now the ego will tell
you one race is better than another and that the greens can’t
get along with the reds and the fude begins. Where my God is
better than your God and if we listen to the ego we will never
put our differences apart, we will be split on many, many
issues. Well let’s put this nasty little creature to rest and
know that we all are connected to the most high God ans hence
where we came from, endless and eternal there shall we also
return to and yes when we getto this point you won’t even
remember that you had an ego and this is his altiment death,
when you realize that you are one with God, so just let him
sleep you are better off without the ego!

From Pain To Power: Turning Sh*t Into D*amonds, Part Two; Seeds of Hope

One of the “problems” of my childhood, according to my Mom, was that I had flat feet. Mother dragged me from doctor to chiropodist to podiatrist seeking a way to correct me. They all said either it was no big deal or that what would need to be done was so extreme that it wouldn’t be worth it. Undaunted, she kept her eyes open. There, in a shoe store on Avenue D, she found a little old German shoe salesman, who, I would imagine, had been a cobbler in the Old Country.

Charlie knew just what to do. He began selling my mother shoes for me that were about one and a half sizes too small, and then, he inserted “cookies”–compact foam pads of increasing thickness–under my arches. My feet were bound in that way for a good (good?) two years. I don’t remember the pain, but, to this day, left with arches (way!) high off the ground, I feel out of balance in my walking.

At the same time, though, some very important things happened to me that gave me the foundation upon which I could build a life. My first year of Catholic grammar school, which I started when I was five, introduced me to choir, and my voice. In that choir, led by Sister Cor Marie, who I hold close to my heart to this day, I found my direct connection to Spirit. Through her patience with my total disregard for Latin, and support of what I could move through me, I was able to transcend my experience of “God’s representatives on earth” and find a vibrant, loving force that would always, and in all ways, be present for me.

And then, there was Dorothy Powell. She was our big, black maid who came on Thursdays and got on her hands and knees and scrubbed our floors, and did all the dirty work my mother didn’t choose to do. Dorothy was round and soft and smelled like ammonia and loved me like no one I ever knew. She held that space for little white children all over the five boroughs. I met a few in subsequent years, and I’ll lay money that through her, they got the touch and love that just didn’t exist in their households. Wherever you are Dorothy, thank you for teaching me what unconditional love feels like.

I have to pause here, for a moment…

It wasn’t until writing this that I realized the vitality I find in my fatness; how I seem most equipped to love and hold and transmit security when I’m fat. Or, perhaps, how easily it comes when I embody my role model. Funny, all this time I just assumed it was about protecting myself from the sting and slap of the pointer on my hip.

There’s a whole litany of psychological, emotional, physical, sexual, and Spiritual abuse in my childhood that occurred before I was ten years old. There were also very deep understandings gained that spoke of a Spirit that can guide, protect, teach, and support. I have been sorting out the aftermath of it all, ever since. As is evident right now, I think it’s fair to say I’ll be doing so until my life is over.

The end product, as loath as I am to admit it, is that I understand pain. I can recognize it and identify it, even put a name to it in the same way that the Eskimo has a word for every different type of snow. Pain was my companion, and my whole life was, and continues to be I suppose, a sacred dance with it.

Whereas it was, at first, my jailer, today it is my friend, for through exploring its many facets and turning that knowledge into tools of action that are valuable in helping others, I have learned to change shit into diamonds.

The Fatal Aspects of Anger

Filed under: World Of Psychology — admin at 10:42 am on Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Since anger is such a prevalent emotion in our high-stress
societies, we tend to take it for granted. We even consider it a
healthy release of pent-up emotions. Yet, at its extreme, anger
can kill you or someone else.

When you are angry, adrenaline floods your body, thus stressing
all your bodily functions to the maximum. Biologically, this is
an emergency situation. It may have saved your ancestors by
impelling them to use a club to ward off a charging saber-tooth
tiger. And in a war-zone, it might be useful, too. But, as an
aspect of daily life, it is a sure way to ruin the smooth
functioning of your metabolism.

When you further consider how your blood pressure rises as well,
you are talking coronary heart-failure as well.

Anger is deadly. And when it is expressed towards others, can
quickly escalate into homicide. In fact, most cases of murder
are due to an uncontrollable resentment toward someone else.

Even unexpressed anger has lethal side effects. It can escalate
into all sorts of worse mental aberrations and unpleasant life
experiences.

Anger, expressed or unexpressed, can ruin your life. It can kill
you or someone else. It is not something that you should mistake
for a mere character flaw.

Even at lower levels of hostility, anger can cause major upsets.
It can ruin your mental and physical health over time, and it
definitely ruins all your relationships. Eventually, it can even
hurt you financially, create substance abuse, or involve you in
a deadly accident.

Anger is nothing short of a brief insanity. After your rage has
passed, you are looking at some form of devastation. During your
episode of anger, you literally lost your mind–your bodily
sensations completely overwhelmed any sense of intelligence.

We laugh when we watch movies like “Anger Management.” Yet the
final joke may be on us if we permit anger to control us. Unless
we take care of our anger it is going to ruin our lives.

Anger, like suicidal depression, is a mental illness. It is a
brief loss of reason, an overwhelming desire to strike out and
hurt someone, a manic lust for revenge at any cost. Like any
mental illness, it needs immediate attention.

If one is subjected to uncontrollable bursts of rage, then this
needs professional intervention. A professional healer will help
you identify and remove the traumatic conditions that have upset
you. Some of them may be so deep-rooted that you are even
unconscious about them.

If anger is merely due to high-levels of stress, anxiety, and
frustration, then a course of stress-relief is necessary. There
are many books on how to reduce your stress through such simple
measures as taking walks, having hot baths, getting a massage,
doing deep breathing, visualization, exercising, listening to
soothing music, or taking on some form of spiritual practice.

It takes a great deal of effort to build anything–a business, a
relationship, or a life–but it takes a few outbursts of anger
to have everything collapse into ruin. Can you really afford to
take for granted an emotion that can result in either utter
failure or death?
